Elias Meyer endures extreme cold to demonstrate human resilience
GENEVA: Swiss powerlifter Elias Meyer has set a new Guinness World Record by remaining fully submerged in ice for two continuous hours, pushing the limits of human endurance.
The extreme feat, carried out under official supervision, saw Meyerโs entire body encased in ice for the full duration, with only his head exposed. Despite the intense cold, mounting fatigue, and psychological stress, Meyer remained still and composed, earning international recognition for his achievement.
Meyer, known for his mental and physical strength, said the attempt was aimed at demonstrating the power of human will and the bodyโs ability to adapt under extreme conditions.
โThis challenge wasnโt just about physical toughnessโit was a mental battle,โ Meyer said after emerging from the ice. โI wanted to show that with focus and preparation, we can overcome even the harshest environments.โ
Guinness World Records officials were present to verify and certify the record, which surpasses previous benchmarks for ice endurance.
Meyerโs accomplishment not only cements his place in record books but also adds to growing interest in extreme cold exposure as a test of both physiological and psychological resilience.
