Fresh details have emerged from survivors of the deadly Dana Sar bus crash in Balochistan. The provincial government has also ordered a formal investigation into the incident. The crash claimed 40 lives and injured several others in Sherani District. Meanwhile, officials have launched an inquiry to determine the exact cause of the tragedy.
Survivor Describes Events Before Deadly Crash
According to an injured passenger, the bus was travelling from Quetta to Peshawar. The survivor alleged that the driver loaded diesel onto the vehicle without informing passengers. Later, the fuel was reportedly unloaded at the last Frontier Corps checkpoint in Balochistan.
The passenger claimed an argument followed between the driver and several passengers. Shortly afterward, the bus met with the fatal accident. The survivor also said women and children were travelling on the vehicle. After regaining consciousness, he found bodies and injured passengers scattered across the crash site.
However, authorities have not independently verified the survivor’s account. Nevertheless, the claims have raised fresh questions about the circumstances surrounding the accident.
Government Launches Transparent Investigation
Meanwhile, the Balochistan government has ordered a comprehensive investigation into the incident. Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Shahid Rind confirmed the decision. He said Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti directed the provincial Transport Secretary to lead the inquiry.
Furthermore, the chief minister requested a detailed report on the accident’s causes. He also instructed officials to examine every aspect through a transparent and impartial investigation.
Separately, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives. He offered condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the departed souls. Additionally, he directed authorities to provide the best possible medical treatment to those injured in the crash.
