The Supreme Court has declined the federal government’s request to hear its review petition early in the PTI founder’s hospital transfer case.
The government had sought an early hearing of its review petition against the court order concerning the PTI founder’s transfer to a hospital. However, the petition will now follow the Supreme Court’s regular scheduling process.
Review Petition Assigned Case Number
The government’s review petition has been registered as case number 2033/2026. It will be fixed for hearing according to the court’s regular scheduling policy.
The petition challenges the earlier order concerning the transfer of the PTI founder to a hospital. However, the request for an early listing has not been approved.
As a result, the review petition will be taken up in its normal turn under the Supreme Court’s fixed-term policy.
Hearing Expected After Summer Recess
The case is currently scheduled for hearing on September 16, following the Supreme Court’s summer recess.
The bench dealing with the matter is not available during the ongoing summer vacations. Therefore, the case will proceed once regular court proceedings resume.
Meanwhile, a separate contempt of court petition linked to the matter is also expected to be fixed alongside the main case.
The upcoming hearing will therefore consider the government’s review petition according to the court’s scheduled proceedings.
