A famous Bollywood actor, Suniel Shetty, said the pressure surrounding a film’s release has never disappeared despite spending more than three decades in the showbiz industry. He said this ahead of the release of his upcoming comedy-action film “Welcome to the Jungle.”
Shetty said a film’s success depends largely on its box office performance. He explained that one successful release can transform an actor’s career, while another disappointing Friday can quickly change fortunes. Therefore, he believes every project carries immense responsibility regardless of experience.
Star-Studded Cast Boosts Confidence
The actor said the film’s impressive ensemble cast gives him confidence. Welcome to the Jungle features leading Bollywood stars, including Akshay Kumar, Jackie Shroff, Jacqueline Fernandez, Disha Patani, and several other well-known actors. According to Shetty, working with such a talented team creates a strong support system throughout the production.
However, he emphasized that audience reaction ultimately determines a film’s fate. While the cast thoroughly enjoyed watching the movie, Shetty acknowledged that viewers may have a completely different opinion after its theatrical release.
Audience Response Remains Decisive
Shetty also discussed the challenges of filming comedy-action scenes. He explained that actors often struggle to maintain serious expressions when co-stars deliver humorous lines. As a result, filmmakers frequently stop shooting because the cast bursts into laughter during scenes.
Moreover, the veteran actor said the unpredictability of audience preferences keeps every release emotionally demanding.
Shetty further said that despite his long career with 100 films, no actor can predict box office success before audiences deliver their verdict and it remains one of Bollywood’s greatest challenges.
