Incident in Residential Area Causes Losses for Animal Owners
An incident involving stray dogs in Karachiโs KDA Officers Housing Society near the National Stadium raised concerns on Saturday after several sacrificial animals reportedly died during an attack.
According to reports, five animals, including goats and a sheep, lost their lives while two others sustained injuries after stray dogs attacked them in the residential locality.
The animals had reportedly been purchased for Eidul Adha and were tied outside a bungalow before the incident occurred.
Reports stated that several stray dogs approached the area and attacked the animals, causing panic and resulting in serious injuries. Consequently, four goats and one sheep reportedly died during the incident, while two other animals sustained injuries.
Meanwhile, media reports indicated that CCTV footage of the incident later surfaced and showed details of the attack.
The event drew attention because many residents keep sacrificial animals in homes and surrounding areas during the Eid season.
Residents Demand Action Over Growing Stray Dog Concerns
The incident reportedly caused concern among both the owners of the affected animals and residents living in nearby areas.
Residents stated that the event raised broader questions regarding the presence of stray dogs within residential neighbourhoods and possible public safety concerns.
Additionally, community members called on local authorities to examine the issue and introduce measures aimed at reducing risks associated with stray animal activity.
The incident also renewed discussion regarding animal management policies and public safety arrangements in urban areas.
