Pakistani actor Nameer Khan has urged young men to rethink behaviours that can cause lasting emotional harm in relationships.
The actor, who currently portrays Zamil in Dar-e-Nijat, shared a candid message alongside a behind-the-scenes photograph. The black-and-white image featured Nameer, co-star Durefishan Saleem and a street performer during an outdoor shoot.
Although the photograph carried a lighter mood, Nameer used the post to address a serious issue. He spoke against the normalisation of disrespect, objectification and emotional manipulation in relationships.
Nameer Khan Challenges Toxic Relationship Culture
Nameer began his message by connecting his on-screen character with the behaviour he wanted to criticise. “Zamil is Zalim,” he wrote, using “Zalim” to describe someone cruel or oppressive.
He then reflected on what he had witnessed while growing up. According to Nameer, he saw boys objectifying girls and speaking badly about them.
He also described situations where boys entered relationships, played with women’s feelings and later took pride in their actions. Moreover, he noted that friends sometimes encouraged such behaviour.
The actor then directly challenged young men to reconsider the behaviour they celebrate within their social circles.

Nameer made his message particularly clear with a direct appeal to men. “Stop this nonsense!” he stressed, warning against the desire to appear like a “hero” or “playboy”.
He argued that hurting a woman or breaking her trust should never become a source of pride. Instead, he highlighted the emotional consequences such actions can create for another person.
“Your desire to be known as a hero or a playboy can become someone else’s trauma,” Nameer stated.
The actor also ended his message with a simple call for healthier values in relationships. “Be respectful. Be honest. Be a better man.”

Nameer’s remarks come as his portrayal of Zamil continues to frustrate viewers. Rather than defending the character’s behaviour, he has used the criticism to separate fiction from real-life conduct.
His comments also followed an emotionally charged scene from Dar-e-Nijat. The scene prompted strong reactions from viewers and actress Amar Khan.
Amar Khan praised Durefishan Saleem’s portrayal of a woman devastated by love. At the same time, she openly expressed her intense dislike for Zamil.
