Yograj Singh, the father of former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh, has once again voiced his criticism of MS Dhoni, stating that he will never forgive the former Indian captain.
Yograj has often expressed his displeasure with Dhoni, alleging that the former captain was responsible for derailing Yuvraj’s career.
“I will never forgive MS Dhoni. He should take a good look at himself in the mirror. He is a great cricketer, but what he did to my son can never be forgiven,” Yograj said in an interview with the Zee Switch YouTube channel. “I have two principles in life—first, I never forgive anyone who has wronged me, and second, I never embrace them, even if they are family.”
Yograj also lamented that Yuvraj could have played for another four to five years and criticized the way his son was treated. He emphasized that Yuvraj should be awarded the Bharat Ratna for his resilience in playing through cancer.
In a viral video, Yograj also commented on Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) loss in the 2024 IPL, attributing their failure to what he perceives as Dhoni’s negative actions. “CSK lost IPL 2024 because you reap what you sow. Yuvraj Singh is the ICC Ambassador—hats off to him! But Dhoni, out of jealousy, didn’t even shake hands with Yuvraj, and that’s why CSK failed this year,” Yograj claimed.
Yograj has previously made several allegations against Dhoni, particularly regarding Yuvraj’s exclusion from the Indian team. Despite his criticism, he acknowledges Dhoni’s stature as a great cricketer.
Yuvraj Singh, who famously hit six sixes in an over during the 2007 T20 World Cup, was diagnosed with cancer in 2011 but went on to help India win the World Cup and was named Player of the Tournament. After recovering from cancer, Yuvraj continued playing cricket until he announced his retirement from international cricket in 2019.
