Pakistan faces Cambodia

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan faces Cambodia in the World Cup Qualifier away-leg match at Phnom Penh’s National Olympic Stadium. The match will start at 5:00 pm, according to Pakistan Standard Time.

Following this away-leg match, Pakistan will host a home-leg match at Islamabad’s Jinnah Stadium. Should the Pakistan football team triumph over Cambodia and secure their first-ever second-round qualification, they will find themselves placed in Group G alongside Tajikistan, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia.

Pakistan is fully prepared to leave no stone unturned on the field, determined to secure a well-deserved victory.

The team’s unwavering dedication, hard work, and resilience have led them to this pivotal moment, and their goal is to bring pride to the nation by securing a spot in the second round.

Speaking at a pre-match press conference, Pakistan’s coach, Stephen Constantine, emphasized the importance of a positive attitude, acknowledging the challenging nature of the game.

He anticipates a transformation in the Pakistan team and hopes for successful outcomes in this encounter, ultimately aiming to conclude the process in Islamabad.

“Cambodia has maintained a cohesive team for quite some time. I’ve faced Cambodia a few times while with the Indian team, and I believe that having a settled team and a long-serving coach can make all the difference. I must commend the players for their outstanding attitude and their increased dedication. Tomorrow, you’ll witness the emergence of the new Pakistan and a fresh beginning for football,” the coach remarked.

Key Pakistani footballer, Easah Suliman, expressed his team’s confidence and determination, saying, “We’re confident, and we must carry that confidence into the game. We’re not entering the match with doubts about our ability to win. As the coach mentioned, we’ve put in rigorous training and have been working effectively. We anticipate a vibrant crowd, and we’re eagerly looking forward to the challenge.”

On the opposing side, Cambodia’s Head Coach, Félix Dalmás, exuded confidence and highlighted the strength of the Pakistani team, stating, “Tomorrow, we’ll face a formidable opponent. As I’ve mentioned before, FIFA rankings don’t truly reflect the quality they possess. I believe all our players understand their responsibilities.”
