The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman, Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, announced on Thursday that the deduction of players’ match fees for the upcoming National T20 Cup has been halted. The domestic competition is set to begin on Friday.
A PCB spokesperson confirmed that Naqvi intervened to stop the reduction in the players’ match fees for the tournament. “The PCB chairman instructed Director of Domestic Cricket, Abdullah Khurram Niazi, to take immediate action on this matter,” the spokesperson stated.
The issue arose when reports suggested players would receive significantly reduced fees per match, sparking controversy. However, with this decision, the PCB chairman has come forward in support of the domestic cricketers.
The National T20 Cup, featuring 18 teams from 16 regions, is scheduled to start on March 14 (Friday).
