Hailing from Peshawar but training in Karachi, the Ali sisters—Mehwish, Mahnoor, and Sehrish—are rapidly gaining recognition in the squash world, despite being overlooked by government authorities.
Determined to leave a lasting impact in the sport, the sisters aspire to be role models for aspiring athletes. Mehwish, the eldest, boasts an impressive collection of medals that highlights the family’s legacy in squash, while junior champion Mahnoor and her sister Sehrish are not far behind.
Fifteen-year-old Mehwish Ali, a rising star, has recently been named a BARD fellow by the Bilquis & Abdul Razak Dawood Foundation. With an incredible 21 gold medals and numerous titles, she exemplifies determination and hard work.
At just 11 years old, Mahnoor has already made a mark in the squash community, winning 11 gold medals and recently receiving support from the BARD Foundation. Meanwhile, Sehrish, recognized as Pakistan’s U15 No. 1 squash sensation, continues to earn accolades and recognition for her dedication.
In a recent competition, Mahnoor clinched the Girls Under-13 title at the Danish Junior Squash Championship, triumphing over her sister Sehrish in straight games (11-3, 11-3, 11-2). Additionally, Mehwish secured third place in the Under-17 category by defeating Ruby Huisman from the Netherlands (11-4, 11-7, 11-8).
Despite their achievements, the sisters emphasize the need for greater support beyond their devoted parents, as they continue to pursue excellence in squash.
