Indian Staff Expelled from PSL 10 Broadcast Amid Rising Tensions

PSL 10 Broadcast

In a strong response to recent Indian aggression and what Islamabad has termed as “baseless allegations” against Pakistan, authorities have expelled 23 Indian nationals involved in broadcasting operations for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10.

The Indian citizens, who were working for a company providing broadcasting services for PSL 10, were escorted under tight security to the Wagah border, where they were handed over to Indian authorities. Their expulsion was carried out swiftly and without incident.

According to police sources, the action was taken following direct instructions from the Pakistani government. Officials ordered that all Indian nationals working in Pakistan in any capacity related to the PSL must leave the country immediately.

The move comes amid escalating diplomatic tensions between Pakistan and India after a series of heated political exchanges in recent days.

A senior police officer, speaking to reporters on condition of anonymity, confirmed the government’s decision. “The government had issued immediate orders regarding the expulsion of Indian citizens connected with the PSL broadcast. The instructions were carried out as directed,” he said.

Sources added that the expelled Indian staff were mainly responsible for technical, production, and broadcasting tasks during the ongoing cricket tournament. Their services were abruptly terminated following the official orders from Islamabad.

Earlier this week, Pakistan had strongly criticized India for engaging in “propaganda and baseless accusations” intended to destabilize Pakistan internally.

In response, the government announced a broader review of Indian nationals working across different sectors in Pakistan, signaling a tightening of policies amid growing mistrust.

So far, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has not released any official statement regarding how the removal of the Indian broadcast team might affect PSL 10’s coverage.

However, insiders close to the tournament’s management have indicated that backup plans are being implemented to ensure that the broadcasting of matches continues smoothly without major disruptions.

The expulsion of Indian nationals underscores the deepening rift between the two neighboring countries, showing once again how political and diplomatic tensions can spill over into the world of sports.
