British-Pakistani boxer Hamzah Sheeraz captured the European middleweight title with a dominant win over Tyler Denny at Wembley Stadium in London.
Sheeraz wasted no time, knocking Denny down with a sharp left hook in the first round. He then sealed the victory in the second round with a powerful headshot, forcing the referee to stop the match, as reported by Sky Sports.
“I’m a humble guy, humble in life, but right now I feel great. Huge thanks to everyone who came out to support me,” Hamzah Sheeraz said after the fight.
“I leave everything to my team. This wasn’t a trap fight for me; they put me in here for a reason, and I delivered,” he added.
Frustrated with the lack of world title opportunities, Sheeraz continued: “I’m tired of asking for world title shots. Whoever steps in the ring with me, I’m knocking them out. Fighting here means everything and more to me.”
Despite being knocked down by Sheeraz’s left hook in the opening round, Denny mounted an aggressive comeback, fighting toe-to-toe on the inside. However, Sheeraz remained in control during the second round, staying on the attack and leaving Denny little room to counter. A quick combination from Sheeraz sent Denny to the canvas again, prompting referee Mark Bates to call the fight, much to the defending champion’s disappointment.
This victory marks Sheeraz’s 15th consecutive stoppage win, bringing his undefeated record to 21-0 with 17 knockouts. His performance continues to cement his status as a formidable contender for world titles in British boxing.
