LAHORE: Ijaz Butt, a former Test cricketer and former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman, passed away in Lahore at the age of 85. As a former Test wicket-keeper/batsman, Ijaz Butt had a notable cricket career, representing Pakistan in eight Test matches. His contributions to Pakistan cricket extended beyond his playing days, as he served as the PCB chief from 2008 to 2011. The whole cricketing community mourns his death.
The Pakistan cricket team achieved a significant milestone under his leadership by winning the ICC T20 World Cup in 2009. The PCB expressed its sadness over his death and offered heartfelt condolences to his friends and family.
