Security forces have killed five terrorists and injured two others during an intelligence-based operation in South Waziristan District, according to 24NewsHD TV.
The operation targeted suspected hideouts of Fitna al-Khawarij in areas surrounding South Waziristan. Security forces conducted the operation after receiving intelligence about the presence of terrorists.
Officials said five terrorists were killed during the operation, while two others sustained injuries. Several terrorist hideouts were also targeted and destroyed during the security action.
Terrorist Hideouts Targeted
According to security sources, the operation was part of continuing efforts against Fitna al-Khawarij in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
A large quantity of weapons and ammunition was recovered from the terrorists following the operation. The recovered material has been taken into custody for further investigation.
Security forces said intelligence-based operations are being conducted to disrupt terrorist networks and prevent attacks in the region.
The latest action comes days after another operation in South Waziristan. On October 3, five Fitna al-Khawarij terrorists were reportedly killed during an intelligence-based operation in the district.

Security sources said terrorist groups operating in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have suffered significant losses during recent intelligence-based operations.
The security forces are continuing operations against militant hideouts under the government’s Azm-e-Istehkam vision.
Officials said the objective is to eliminate terrorist networks and strengthen security across the region.
