South Korea is offering Pakistani workers opportunities to secure legal employment through its Employment Permit System (EPS), providing a pathway for eligible candidates to work in various sectors of the country’s economy.
The programme operates through cooperation between Pakistan’s Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC) and South Korea’s Human Resources Development Service of Korea (HRD Korea).
Under the scheme, selected Pakistani workers may find employment in manufacturing, construction, agriculture and certain service sectors. Successful applicants generally travel to South Korea on an E-9 work visa, subject to the applicable requirements.
The recruitment process includes a Korean-language examination known as EPS-TOPIK. Candidates who meet the required standards may proceed to further assessments, which can include practical skills tests and evaluations of their suitability for particular jobs.
Applicants generally need to be between 18 and 39 years old. However, candidates should check the latest official recruitment notice for the applicable age limits, registration dates, available positions and other eligibility conditions.
Passing the language examination does not guarantee employment. Candidates must complete the required selection procedures, enter the job-seeker register where applicable, receive an employer’s selection and fulfil medical, visa and pre-departure requirements.
Authorities advise prospective applicants to consult official government channels for accurate information and updates. Job seekers should also avoid unlicensed agents who promise guaranteed employment or offer selection without examinations in exchange for money.
Interested candidates can visit the Overseas Employment Corporation’s official website at https://www.oec.gov.pk/eps for programme information. Korean-language examination details are available at https://epstopik.hrdkorea.or.kr/.
The programme provides Pakistani workers with a formal route to overseas employment while requiring applicants to follow the prescribed recruitment and immigration procedures.
