Authorities continue identification process while security operations intensify elsewhere in Balochistan
QUETTA: Police have recovered the bodies of six unidentified men from the Nasirabad area of Turbat in Balochistan, where officials said the victims appeared to have sustained gunshot wounds.
According to local police, efforts are underway to establish the identities of the deceased and determine the circumstances surrounding their deaths. Investigators have not yet confirmed whether the bodies are connected to the reported abduction of 12 people from Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the Turbat area three days earlier.
Officials said the investigation remains ongoing, and further information will be released after the identification process and forensic examination are completed.
Police have urged the public to avoid speculation while authorities continue collecting evidence and verifying the facts surrounding the incident.
Investigation continues
Law enforcement officials said they are examining all available leads, including the possibility of a connection between the recovered bodies and the earlier reported kidnappings.
However, they stressed that no official conclusion has been reached regarding any link between the two incidents.
Authorities added that identification efforts are being carried out in coordination with relevant departments to notify families if the victims are identified.
Security operations continue in Balochistan
Meanwhile, security forces recently conducted several intelligence-based operations in the Nushki district of Balochistan.
According to official statements, eight suspected militants described by the authorities as members of “Fitna-ul-Hindustan” were killed following exchanges of fire. Officials also said security personnel recovered and destroyed weapons, ammunition and improvised explosive devices allegedly used by the militants.
The official statements further said clearance operations remain in progress to locate and eliminate suspected militants believed to be operating in the area.
Authorities stated that counterterrorism operations will continue under the “Determination of Stability” strategy approved by the Federal Apex Committee as part of the National Action Plan.
The claims regarding the identity, affiliation and foreign support of the militants were made by Pakistani authorities. Independent verification of those claims was not immediately available. Investigations into the Turbat incident and security operations elsewhere in Balochistan remain ongoing.
