ISLAMABAD: A unique wedding ceremony in Multan has become a talk of the town in Pakistan. The news of the first of its kind marriage ceremony involving six sisters and six brothers is getting much limelight on media in Pakistan.
In fact, all the bridegrooms and all the brides are cousins and their families felt convenience in combined wedding ceremony of six sisters of a family with six brothers of another family, though they are cousins. And although multiple weddings at a single event are not rare in Punjab this one surprised many and everyone wanted to know more because in this development involved six brides (six sisters) and six bridegrooms (six brothers).

The six daughters of Mohammed Lateef tied the knot with their six cousins in a grand wedding held in Multan on Dec 14. One of the bridegrooms, Shafiq, claims it was his โlove marriage.”
One of the six brides, Anum, expressed her emotions on her big day saying, โWe [six sisters] are happy about getting married on the same day and in the same familyโ.
All brides were dressed up in the traditional red and two of them wore the same outfits. The family got emotional when the six sisters departed for their new homes.
โWe are happy that a new joint family has been formed,โ another bridegroom Shakeel said.

Sajjad said, “We all brothers share a good bond among us.” Shafiq prayed for “a lifetime companionship.”

However, the real challenge for the brides and bridegrooms is to identify their partners as they are living the same home. If all brides and bridegrooms wear the same dresses, the identification of the couples would become difficult.
