Artist Claims Hosts Misbehaved and Withheld Payment
Pakistani singer Sanam Sidhu has alleged that she, her younger brother, and members of her team were subjected to assault and mistreatment during a wedding function in Shikarpur.
According to Sidhu, she had been invited to perform at a marriage ceremony organized by members of the Lakho community in the Meerani Mohallah area, which falls within the jurisdiction of the New Fogdari Police Station.
The singer claimed that several hosts at the event were under the influence of alcohol and behaved in an inappropriate manner throughout the function.
Furthermore, she alleged that members of her team were held against their will for several hours and that their luggage was taken during the incident.
The allegations have drawn attention on social media and among members of the entertainment industry, with supporters calling for a thorough investigation into the matter.
Protest Held as Calls for Action Intensify
Sidhu further alleged that the organizers refused to pay the agreed performance fee following the event.
Consequently, she staged a protest demonstration and demanded action against those she believes were responsible for the incident.
Meanwhile, the singer urged Sindhโs cultural authorities and law enforcement agencies to investigate the allegations and ensure accountability.
Additionally, she called on the Sindh Minister for Culture and the Inspector General of Police Sindh to take notice of the matter and provide justice for her and her team.
The incident has sparked discussion about the safety and treatment of performers at private events, particularly those who travel to different cities for professional engagements.
Observers noted that artists and event organizers alike have increasingly emphasized the importance of security arrangements and contractual protections during public and private functions.
Authorities have not yet publicly announced the outcome of any investigation related to the allegations.
