Sindh police have launched an investigation into a high-end luxury vehicle, a black Range Rover Sport, stolen from the United Kingdom and recently tracked to Karachi.
According to officials, the vehicle was stolen on November 11, 2022, from Harrogate, UK, and later traced through its tracker system to Korangi Road in Karachi in February 2025. Interpol subsequently alerted the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Karachi police, and the Anti-Vehicles Lifting Cell (AVLC) about the case.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ghulam Nabi Memon confirmed that the police had received Interpol’s letter at the AVLC office two days ago and had already reached out to the UK police.
Sindh police have requested detailed tracker logs to determine the vehicle’s movements and the source of its last active signal, which placed it in Karachi on February 11, 2025.
The Interpol communication highlighted that the Range Rover, after being stolen, was initially tracked to Leeds before being lost. It was only later traced to Pakistan, raising questions about how the luxury SUV was transported across borders.
The UK police have sought the cooperation of Pakistani authorities in recovering the stolen vehicle and identifying those involved in its smuggling.
The case echoes a similar incident from 2022 when a Bentley Mulsanne, also stolen from the UK, was recovered in Karachi following precise tracking information provided by British intelligence agencies.
That recovery raised serious concerns about organized networks involved in the illicit import and sale of stolen luxury cars in Pakistan.
Authorities now suspect that the recently surfaced Range Rover may be part of the same smuggling ring. The Sindh police, in coordination with FIA and Interpol, are expected to expand their inquiry to trace possible buyers, handlers, and facilitators linked to the illegal entry of the vehicle into Karachi.
