The Sindh Government has announced a plan to provide free electric motorcycles to women, aiming to improve their transportation for professional duties.
Under this initiative, the Department of Transport will distribute 1,200 electric motorcycles each year, with 100 women receiving them monthly.
To enhance mobility and encourage women’s participation in the workforce, the department has requested Rs300 million for the Electric Vehicle (EV) motorcycle scheme.
The motorcycles will be allocated through a lucky draw system, as per the Transport Department.
The approval of this scheme is set to be discussed in the Sindh Cabinet meeting on February 27, where the allocation of Rs30 million will also be reviewed.
