KARACHI: The Sindh government has issued a strong warning against fake online advertisements and messages claiming registration or payment requirements for the Pink Scooty Scheme. Officials clarified that the scooters are being provided completely free of cost to eligible women across the province.
Government Clarifies No Payment Required
In an alert shared through the Sindh Information Departmentโs official X (formerly Twitter) account, the provincial government stated it has taken serious notice of fraudulent claims circulating on social media. These fake messages suggest that applicants can register or apply for the Pink Scooty Scheme by making online payments.
The official statement emphasized that the Sindh government has not authorized any website, link, or individual to collect money or personal information under the scheme. Authorities described such online posts as โfabricated and misleading.โ
Pink Scooty Scheme Aims to Empower Women
Officials explained that the Pink Scooty Scheme is a welfare initiative designed to empower women and encourage safe, independent travel throughout Sindh. Under the program, scooters are distributed free of charge to deserving women who meet the eligibility criteria. The initiative aims to support womenโs mobility, improve access to education and employment, and promote gender equality in transportation.
Citizens Urged to Avoid Scams
The Sindh government has urged citizens to remain vigilant and avoid sharing personal information or making payments through unauthorized websites or individuals. People are advised to rely only on verified government channels for official updates and authentic information about the scheme.

Authorities have also confirmed that legal action has begun against those involved in spreading fake information and attempting to deceive the public. The Cyber Crime Wing and other law enforcement agencies are investigating the fraudulent activities to hold the culprits accountable.
