Provincial Authorities Issue Updated Notification for Public Offices
The Government of Sindh issued a corrigendum announcing an updated public holiday schedule for Eid-ul-Azha across the province, outlining arrangements for government institutions and administrative offices.
According to a notification issued by the Services, General Administration and Coordination Department, authorities declared May 26, May 27, and May 28, 2026, as public holidays throughout Sindh.
The revised schedule applies to all provincial government offices, autonomous and semi-autonomous institutions, corporations, and local councils operating under the Sindh government.
Meanwhile, officials directed relevant departments and institutions to implement the revised arrangements according to the issued instructions.
The updated announcement also clarified that the holiday schedule would not apply universally across every government function.
Consequently, certain departments and services will continue operations because of administrative requirements and essential responsibilities.
Essential Services and Budget Work Remain Exempt From Schedule
According to the notification, essential services will remain operational despite the holiday announcement.
Additionally, government offices and departments involved in preparations related to the provincial budget for the 2026โ27 fiscal year will continue functioning during the period.
Authorities stated that these exemptions aim to ensure uninterrupted public services and maintain progress on important administrative responsibilities.
Furthermore, the Sindh government announced that May 29, 2026, will be observed as a work-from-home day for relevant offices and departments.
Officials explained that the arrangement forms part of the broader schedule introduced for the holiday period.
The notification was issued through the office of the Chief Secretary Sindh and circulated among relevant institutions for implementation.
Meanwhile, citizens and government employees are expected to follow updated instructions and schedules during the Eid holiday period.
