The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has offloaded a woman traveling to Saudi Arabia on an Umrah visa at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport. Authorities suspect the case may involve human smuggling and have launched a formal investigation.
Officials stopped the passenger during the immigration clearance process after identifying suspicious travel information.
Suspicious Travel Details Trigger Investigation
According to the FIA, immigration officials questioned the woman about the purpose of her visit and other aspects of her travel after detecting irregularities.
During the preliminary investigation, authorities uncovered important information related to her travel arrangements. Investigators also recovered suspicious voice messages and photographs from her mobile phone.
These findings prompted officials to expand the inquiry into the case.
FIA Examines Travel Records
Investigators have collected details of the woman’s previous and current travel arrangements as part of the ongoing investigation.
Authorities are reviewing the available evidence to determine whether the travel was linked to an organized human smuggling network or any other illegal activity.
Case Referred to Anti-Human Trafficking Circle
The FIA has transferred the woman to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle, Karachi, where legal proceedings have begun.
Meanwhile, investigators are also examining the possible involvement of other individuals connected to the case. The inquiry remains ongoing as authorities continue gathering evidence to establish the full circumstances surrounding the suspected human smuggling operation.
