Militants Target Police Returning from Peace Committee Meeting
Three policemen, including a Station House Officer (SHO), were injured on Saturday when their convoy was attacked with an improvised explosive device (IED) in the Doaba area of Hangu. The incident occurred as the police team was returning from a peace committee meeting, officials confirmed.
According to police sources, the convoy came under attack when a roadside IED exploded, targeting the police vehicles. The device was detonated remotely by militants hiding nearby. The attack caused a loud explosion that damaged the convoy and left several officers injured.
District Police Officer (DPO) Hangu Khan Zeb Khan said that an important meeting between police officials and the peace committee had been held earlier in Karbogha Sharif, within the jurisdiction of Doaba Police Station. The meeting was attended by SP Investigation Abdul Samad Khan, DSP Mujahid Hussain, and other senior officers.
