PTI leader shifted from Kot Lakhpat Jail to Punjab Institute of Cardiology
LAHORE: Senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi was transferred to the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) on Saturday after experiencing chest pain while in custody at Kot Lakhpat Jail.
According to jail authorities, Qureshi reported discomfort and was initially examined by the jail’s medical staff. Following preliminary assessment, doctors recommended a more detailed evaluation, leading to his admission at PIC.
Hospital sources said a series of diagnostic tests, including blood work, have been conducted. Early reports suggest that Qureshi’s condition is stable, though further medical examinations are ongoing.
The PTI leader was brought to the hospital under tight security, and his family has been notified of his condition by prison officials.
