KARACHI: According to rescue sources, a fire broke out in the emergency center of Sindh Government Hospital Liaquatabad, leading to seven individuals sustaining burn injuries.
The incident, ignited by a cylinder explosion, unfolded in Karachi’s densely populated area, causing the hospital to be filled with smoke and creating inconvenience for patients and attendants.
Prompt response teams swiftly transferred the injured individuals to another hospital, and a Bomb Disposal Squad was called to the scene for further investigation.
Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori took immediate notice of the incident and has sought a detailed report from the Medical Superintendent of Sindh Government Hospital Liaquatabad. Expressing concern, Tessori also extended his prayers for the speedy recovery of those affected by the fire.

This incident comes on the heels of a tragic event on December 6, 2023, when a fire erupted in Karachi’s Ayesha Manzil. The blaze originated in furniture shops and quickly spread to the residential units of Arshi Shopping Mall, resulting in the loss of five lives.
After hours of relentless efforts, rescue workers managed to extinguish the fire. Rescue 1122 confirmed the safe evacuation of 300 individuals from the affected building, and fortunately, no damage was reported to nearby structures. The recurrence of such incidents underscores the need for heightened safety measures and vigilance in densely populated areas.
