In an intelligence-based operation conducted in Dera Ismail Khan on Tuesday, security forces successfully neutralized four terrorists following a fierce exchange of fire, as stated by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The ISPR disclosed that the terrorists, identified as Mustafa, Qismat Ullah, and Islam Ud Din, were engaged in various terrorist activities against security forces and innocent civilians. Weapons, ammunition, and explosives were recovered from the slain terrorists.
Furthermore, a clearance operation was carried out in the area to ensure the elimination of any other terrorists who might be hiding.
A few days earlier, in response to a terrorist attack on a security checkpoint in North Waziristan, security forces conducted an operation resulting in the elimination of six terrorists.
The attack, which occurred on March 16th, targeted a security post in Mir Ali, North Waziristan District. Despite the terrorists’ initial thwarting by troops, they resorted to extreme measures, including ramming an explosive-laden vehicle into the post and subsequent suicide bombings, leading to the tragic martyrdom of five soldiers.
The fallen soldiers were identified as Havildar Sabir, Naik Khurshid, Sepoy Nasir, Sepoy Raja, and Sepoy Sajjad. In response to the attack, a swift clearance operation, led by Lieutenant Colonel Kashif, resulted in the neutralization of all six terrorists.
However, the operation came at a cost, with Lieutenant Colonel Syed Kashif Ali and Captain Muhammad Ahmed Badar displaying exceptional bravery and making the ultimate sacrifice during the intense firefight.
After the operation, a thorough sanitization process was undertaken to eliminate any lingering terrorist presence in the area, underscoring Pakistan’s security forces’ steadfast commitment to counter-terrorism. The valor exhibited by the soldiers stands as a testament to our unwavering dedication to safeguarding national security and fostering peace within the region.
