ISLAMABAD: Pakistani Security forces killed 32 militants during separate intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations, security personnel conducted operations overnight between July 28 and 29, and killed 24 militants in Khyber district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Meanwhile, security forces killed eight militants during a separate operation in Nushki district of Balochistan.
The military said forces carried out comprehensive joint operations across different areas of both provinces.
According to the ISPR, the operations targeted what it described as an India-sponsored terrorist network involving Fitna Al Khawarij and Fitna Al Hindustan.
Furthermore, security forces effectively targeted militant hideouts during the operations.
The ISPR said troops recovered a large cache of weapons, ammunition and improvised explosive devices from the militants.
Authorities subsequently destroyed all recovered weapons, ammunition and IEDs, according to the military’s statement.
Meanwhile, security forces have launched sanitisation operations to locate and eliminate any other militants allegedly operating in the affected areas.
The military said the latest operations formed part of Pakistan’s ongoing counterterrorism campaign under the Azm-i-Istehkam initiative.
The campaign follows the vision approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan.
Furthermore, the ISPR said security forces and law enforcement agencies would continue operations at full pace.
The military vowed to eliminate what it described as foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism across the country.
The latest operations highlight the continued security challenges facing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
Authorities said security forces would maintain pressure on militant networks and continue intelligence-based operations to improve security in affected regions.
