Security forces have killed 21 militants in multiple operations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Sunday.
According to the military’s media wing, the militants were killed during separate engagements conducted between September 3 and 5, 2026.
The operations were carried out amid continued security concerns along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border and in several districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
10 More Militants Killed in North Waziristan
ISPR said security forces had already killed 15 militants while preventing an attempted infiltration along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border opposite North Waziristan on the night of August 31 and September 1.
Following that operation, security forces detected that another group of militants had remained concealed in the area.
According to ISPR, troops conducted a follow-up engagement and killed 10 additional militants who were hiding in the area.
The latest operation brought the total number of militants killed in connection with the attempted infiltration to 25, according to the military.
Security forces also detected the movement of another group along the border in North Waziristan.
Troops engaged the group and killed seven militants, ISPR said.
Four Militants Killed in Kohat, Dera Ismail Khan
In separate operations, security forces killed another four militants during two encounters in Kohat and Dera Ismail Khan districts.
The military said the operations were conducted as part of ongoing efforts to counter militant activity in the province.
Following the engagements, sanitisation operations were launched in the affected areas.
ISPR said these operations were aimed at locating and eliminating any other militants who might still be present.
ISPR Criticises Afghan Border Management
The military said the latest incidents along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border had reinforced Pakistan’s concerns regarding cross-border militant activity.
ISPR alleged that the Afghan Taliban administration had failed to prevent militant organisations from using Afghan territory for attacks against Pakistan.
The military also accused the Afghan authorities of failing to ensure effective border management and fulfil their international counterterrorism obligations.
“Repeated incidents along Pakistan-Afghanistan border have once again vindicated Pakistan’s stance,” ISPR said.
According to the military, continued militant activity from across the border remains a major security challenge for Pakistan.
ISPR said security forces remain fully committed to protecting the country’s borders and preventing militant infiltration.
The military added that clearance and sanitisation operations were continuing to ensure that no other militants remained in the area.
