Rawalpindi โ Pakistanโs security forces killed 13 militants in two intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the militaryโs media wing said on Wednesday. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations, the operations took place on March 30 in Khyber and Bannu districts.
Officials stated that the militants belonged to what the military described as Indian-sponsored groups. The operations formed part of ongoing counterterrorism efforts under the national security campaign.
Operations Target Militant Hideouts in Bara and Bannu
Meanwhile, security personnel launched the first operation in the Bara area of Khyber District after receiving intelligence reports about militant presence. Troops engaged the hideout and, following an intense exchange of fire, killed 10 militants.
In addition, forces carried out a second operation in Bannu District. During the encounter, troops neutralized three more militants. Authorities confirmed that both operations achieved their objectives without delay.
Furthermore, security forces initiated sanitization efforts in both areas to ensure no remaining militants operate in the vicinity. Officials emphasized that intelligence-based operations remain a key component of the broader counterterrorism strategy.
Continued Campaign Under National Security Framework
Moreover, the military reiterated its commitment to eliminating militancy through sustained operations. The campaign, conducted under the โAzm-e-Istehkamโ framework approved by the National Action Planโs Federal Apex Committee, continues across affected regions.
Officials stressed that coordination between security forces and law enforcement agencies remains essential to maintaining stability. Consequently, authorities vowed to intensify efforts to dismantle networks linked to foreign-sponsored militancy.
The statement concluded that operations will continue at full pace to ensure long-term peace and security in the country.
