Following a terrorist attack on a security checkpoint in North Waziristan, the ensuing operation by security forces resulted in the elimination of six terrorists.
The attack occurred in the early hours of 16th March when a group of six terrorists targeted a security post in Mir Ali, North Waziristan District. Despite the initial foiling of the attack by troops, the terrorists resorted to extreme measures, including ramming an explosive-laden vehicle into the post and subsequent suicide bombings. These actions caused the collapse of a portion of a building, tragically resulting in the martyrdom of five soldiers.
The fallen heroes were identified as Havildar Sabir from District Khyber, Naik Khurshid from District Lakki Marwat, Sepoy Nasir from District Peshawar, Sepoy Raja from District Kohat, and Sepoy Sajjad from District Abbottabad.
In response to the attack, a clearance operation was swiftly conducted, led by Lieutenant Colonel Kashif. Under his command, the troops effectively neutralized all six terrorists. However, the operation was not without sacrifice. During the intense exchange of fire, Lieutenant Colonel Syed Kashif Ali from Karachi, aged 39, and Captain Muhammad Ahmed Badar from District Talagang, aged 23, displayed exceptional bravery and made the ultimate sacrifice.
Subsequent to the operation, a sanitization process is underway to root out any remaining terrorist presence in the area. This concerted effort underscores the unwavering commitment of Pakistan’s security forces to eradicate the scourge of terrorism from the nation. The courageous acts of our soldiers serve to fortify our resolve in the face of such challenges, honoring their memory and inspiring continued dedication to the cause of national security and peace.
