RAWALPINDI: In a decisive operation, security forces in Balochistan successfully neutralized a highly sought-after Daesh terrorist on Friday, averting what could have been a devastating attack. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) issued a statement, revealing that the meticulously planned operation was executed based on crucial intelligence obtained in Qilla Saifullah.
The encounter during the operation involved a fierce exchange of gunfire, ultimately resulting in the elimination of the High-Value Target (HVT), identified as Abdul Shakoor, also known as Nauman or Abu Hamza Khurasani of Daesh, who was considered a significant threat to national security.

According to the ISPR, Shakoor was not only the mastermind behind the coordinated attacks in Qila Saifullah and Pishin on February 7, 2024, but he was also a top-priority target for law enforcement agencies. The statement underscored his role in planning high-profile suicide bombing attacks in Balochistan, all of which were successfully averted due to the proactive and timely intervention of security forces and intelligence agencies.
The ISPR’s communication highlighted the unwavering commitment of Pakistan’s Security Forces to collaborate with the nation in thwarting any attempts aimed at sabotaging the peace, stability, and progress of Balochistan. The successful operation serves as a testament to the effectiveness of intelligence-led missions and the dedication of security forces in safeguarding the lives and well-being of the citizens.
