ISLAMABAD: The top trends of search on Google by Pakistanis reflected a major change in 2022. Unlike past, this time most Pakistanis searched for political developments, celebrities, initiatives of the government, entertainment, current events, food and technology.
Google has mentioned in its annual review statement for the year 2022 issued today.
In 2022, Pakistanis were also interested in staying updated about the T20 World Cup 2022 held in Australia _ Pakistan Super League (PSL), Asia Cup 2022 and the World Cup.
In 2022, the most searched topic on Google was the chances of rain at Melbourne Cricket Stadium during Pakistan versus India cricket match. Melbourne city’s climate was the fourth most searched topic on Google this year.
Meanwhile, climate change was also an important search on Google especially catastrophic floods in Pakistan this year.
The Ehsaas programme comes in at number six, followed by Arshad Sharif at number seven on the list of most Googled terms. Mysterious murder of anchorperson Arshad Sharif also got limelight on media and it remained a hot topic for search.
Due to the sudden demise of MNA Aamir Liaquat, he comes in at number eight in Google search, followed by Queen Elizabeth _ number nine and Naseem Shah _ number 10.
