The Supreme Court will hear a contempt of court petition concerning jailed PTI founder Imran Khanโs hospital transfer on September 16. Imranโs sister, Dr Uzma Khan, filed the petition over the alleged violation of the courtโs order.
A three-member bench comprising Justice Shahid Waheed, Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan and Justice Shakil Ahmed will hear the case. The Supreme Court has included the matter in its roster for the judicial week beginning September 14.
PTI Refiles Petition After Registrar Objection
The registrarโs office initially returned Dr Uzmaโs petition after raising an objection over the absence of a list of allegations against the respondents. PTI subsequently addressed the objection and refiled the petition, which received case number 8/2026.
Dr Uzma also requested an early hearing, citing concerns about her brotherโs health and life. The registrarโs office accepted the request, although the court later fixed the contempt plea for September 16.
Sister Alleges Defiance of Court Order
In her petition, Dr Uzma alleged that the federal government had disregarded the Supreme Courtโs order concerning Imranโs transfer to Shifa International Hospital. She argued that authorities could have approached the relevant court if they needed clarification.
The petition seeks contempt proceedings against those allegedly responsible, along with show-cause notices and directions for their personal appearance. PTI Secretary-General Salman Akram Raja and lawyer Uzair Bhandari filed the petition on Dr Uzmaโs behalf.
