In response to the devastating floods that struck Gwadar, Pakistan, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has initiated the distribution of essential food items, providing crucial aid to the affected communities.
Following heavy rains that triggered floods in Gwadar and surrounding areas of Balochistan province, causing extensive damage to homes and infrastructure, KSrelief has stepped in to provide support to those in need.
The relief efforts include the distribution of 873 tons of food items, which began in Gwadar under the supervision of local authorities and Saudi representatives. Each food package contains essential items such as flour, cooking oil, sugar, split chickpeas, and dates, aimed at addressing the immediate food needs of the affected population.
Led by Additional Deputy Commissioner Tabish Baloch and ADC Revenue Sana Mahjabeen Umrani, the distribution process started in the rain-affected areas of Gwadar, with tokens issued to ensure fair and efficient distribution to the victims identified through a comprehensive survey.
In addition to food assistance, KSrelief is also providing shelter kits, including shelters, solar panels, blankets, plastic mats, kitchen sets, water coolers, and antibacterial soap, benefiting a significant number of flood-affected individuals in Pakistan.
The comprehensive support provided by KSrelief is expected to aid 63,000 people, offering vital relief and assistance to those grappling with the aftermath of the natural disaster. This initiative underscores the strong and enduring humanitarian partnership between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan in times of crisis.
