Five trucks of humanitarian supplies arrive in seven districts: CM Maryam Nawaz thanks the Saudi leadership for timely support
Saudi Arabia has extended a strong gesture of solidarity with Pakistan and sent much-needed relief goods for flood-affected families in Punjab. The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) provided humanitarian aid that reached multiple districts of the province today.
Relief Goods Handed Over to PDMA
Meanwhile, five trucks carrying humanitarian assistance arrived in seven flood-hit districts. At a handover ceremony, Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed Ahmad Al-Malki formally delivered the supplies to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) in the presence of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
Also, the relief package includes 10,000 shelter kits and 10,000 food baskets, each weighing 95 kilograms. The baskets contain flour, sugar, pulses, and cooking oil. Families will also receive tents, solar panels, LED lights, blankets, kitchen sets, and other essential household items.
Distribution Across Punjab
Notably, the aid will be distributed in Kasur, Jhang, Khanewal, Hafizabad, Chiniot, Multan, and Toba Tek Singh through the joint efforts of PDMA Punjab, KSRelief, and the Hayat Foundation. Officials emphasized that the relief would immediately benefit thousands of families displaced by the devastating floods.
CM Maryam Nawaz Lauds Saudi Support
During her meeting with the Saudi envoy, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz praised Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. She described their leadership as “a guiding light for the Muslim Ummah.”
Maryam Nawaz expressed deep gratitude for the timely assistance, calling it a true symbol of brotherhood and solidarity. She stressed that the flood crisis had once again highlighted the depth of Pakistan-Saudi relations, which go beyond strategic cooperation and are rooted in fraternity and shared values.
Moreover, she further noted that bilateral economic cooperation continues to expand, strengthening the long-standing bond between the two nations.
