Saudi Arabia has concluded Hijri year 1447 with significant achievements across economic development, education, technology, infrastructure, diplomacy and environmental protection, reflecting progress under its ambitious Vision 2030 programme.
The Kingdom has continued transforming its economy and public services while expanding international partnerships and creating opportunities for its citizens. As it prepares to enter the final phase of Vision 2030, Saudi Arabia aims to strengthen its global competitiveness and accelerate innovation.
On the diplomatic front, Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman’s visit to the United States reinforced strategic ties between Riyadh and Washington. Both countries announced agreements and memoranda of understanding worth approximately $270 billion, covering defence, artificial intelligence and investment.
Saudi Arabia also maintained its support for Palestinian rights and international efforts to advance a two-state solution.
In education and scientific research, Saudi students secured 24 awards at the 2026 Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair. Meanwhile, the Kingdom identified 34,000 gifted students and strengthened its position in artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.
Economic indicators also reflected progress. Non-oil exports reached a record SR624 billion, marking a 15% increase from SR543 billion in 2024. The Public Investment Fund reported assets under management of SR3.42 trillion by the end of 2024.
Infrastructure developments included the launch of Riyadh Air’s inaugural London flights, the opening of Six Flags Qiddiya City and progress on a major government data centre in Riyadh.
Environmentally, Saudi Arabia rehabilitated its first one million hectares of degraded land under the Saudi Green Initiative.
As the Kingdom advances towards Vision 2030’s final phase, it aims to build on these achievements through sustainable growth, technological advancement and international cooperation.
