Saudi Arabia has started issuing Umrah visas for the 1448 AH season. The move marks the beginning of preparations for the next pilgrimage cycle after this yearโs Hajj.
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah confirmed that visa issuance started on May 31. It also stated that international pilgrims can continue arriving until March 23, 2027.
The ministry added that this schedule sets a structured timeline for the entire Umrah season. As a result, authorities aim to manage pilgrim flow more efficiently.
Entry rules and digital services
Pilgrims can enter Makkah and apply for permits through the Nusuk platform. This platform works as Saudi Arabiaโs central digital system for bookings and pilgrimage services.
In addition, the ministry said March 9, 2027, will be the final date for issuing Umrah visas. This date corresponds to Shawwal 1, 1448 AH.
The last entry date for pilgrims will be March 23, 2027. After that, all pilgrims must leave the Kingdom by April 7, 2027.
The government continues to improve digital systems to support pilgrims. It has introduced electronic permits, QR code verification, and automated booking procedures through Nusuk.
Saudi Arabia is also upgrading transport and hospitality services. These improvements aim to support growing numbers of pilgrims.
Furthermore, these efforts are part of the Kingdomโs Vision 2030 plan. The goal is to enhance the overall pilgrimage experience and improve service efficiency.
