On Sunday, a relief airplane made a stop at the Karachi airport while a cargo ship carrying 30 containers docked at the Karachi Port, continuing the flow of help from the brotherly Muslim nations to the flood victims, according to officials.
It was the eighth such airlift from the friendly nation of Saudi Arabia. The help was accepted by the director of the King Salman Relief Center, representatives of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), and the Pakistan Army 5 Corps.
At the same time, a cargo ship from the UAE carrying 30 containers of aid arrived at Karachi port. The UAE consulate reported that the relief supplies for Pakistan’s thousands of flood victims included food, medicine, and other necessities.
Italy joined the nations supplying aid to Pakistan on Sunday as well. At the airport, Rasool Bakhsh Chandio, the chief minister of Sindh’s advisor for relief and rehabilitation, accepted the Italian assistance. Officials from the NDMA and the general consul of Italy attended the event.
The first flight from Russia bearing aid for the flood victims arrived at Jinnah International Airport earlier this week. For the flood victims in Pakistan, Russia supplied grains, palm oil, dried milk, tents, water, and other supplies.
In partnership with a regional NGO, an Indonesian humanitarian NGO called Dompet Dhuafa debuted a trial programme for Indonesian homes for Sindh flood victims on Saturday. Indonesian Consul General Dr. June Kuncoro Hadiningrat launched the initiative.
The Dompet Dhuafa field manager claimed that the house’s design was based on the idea of a “growing house.” He insisted that the housing had been constructed with the residents’ long-term requirements in mind.
In a statement, the Foreign Office expressed Pakistan’s gratitude to all the nations for offering their support in the shape of humanitarian supplies and demonstrating solidarity with Pakistan during these trying times.
