Businessman Questions Unverified Media Claims
Dubai-based businessman Satish Sanpal has rejected reports claiming that authorities in the United Arab Emirates froze assets linked to him and his wife.
Sanpal is the founder and chairman of ANAX Holding. His representatives issued a formal statement after several Indian media organisations reported that the UAE Financial Intelligence Unit had ordered a temporary freeze as part of an alleged money-laundering investigation.
The statement said no competent UAE enforcement or regulatory authority had issued a public announcement concerning the reported allegations.
Sanpal urged media organisations to carefully verify information obtained from unofficial sources before publishing or repeating it.
He said the circulation of such reports raised questions about their source and purpose. He added that his priority remained protecting his family, employees and businesses from unwarranted harm.
However, the wording of the statement focused on the absence of an official public disclosure. It did not release any document from UAE authorities directly confirming or denying whether an internal financial restriction had been issued.
Khaleej Times reported that it had approached the relevant UAE authorities for further information. No official public clarification was available at the time of reporting.
ANAX Says Projects and Banking Operations Remain Active
Sanpalโs representatives said the reports had not affected the operations of ANAX Developments.
The statement maintained that the companyโs governance, contractual commitments, financial arrangements and ongoing commercial activities continued normally.
It said ANAX projects, banking arrangements, escrow accounts and wider business operations remained fully operational.
The company therefore rejected suggestions that the reported matter had disrupted its real estate activities or financial commitments.
ANAX Holding operates across sectors including property development, hospitality and financial services. Sanpal has also gained public attention through his appearance with his wife, Tabinda Sanpal, in the Netflix reality programme Desi Bling.
The businessman also warned that he reserved the right to pursue legal remedies against publications carrying false, misleading, defamatory or unlawful material.
Requests for clarification were directed to his authorised media representative.
Conflicting Reports Leave Key Questions Unresolved
Indian media reports had claimed that the UAE Financial Intelligence Unit directed banks, financial institutions and virtual-asset service providers to temporarily restrict accounts and digital assets connected to Sanpal, his wife and associated companies.
Some reports claimed the alleged order was issued on July 13, 2026, for an initial period of 30 days. UAE authorities have not publicly confirmed those details.
The latest statement also did not provide a detailed response to separate reports concerning criminal cases previously registered against Sanpal in India.
A Delhi High Court order records that a Look Out Circular was opened against him in August 2022. The same legal record notes submissions that he later obtained bail in several cases and had not been formally declared a proclaimed offender by a court.
Sanpal has challenged earlier reporting through legal proceedings. In May 2026, the Delhi High Court issued interim directions in a defamation case involving publications accused of using unverified and prejudicial descriptions against him.
No publicly announced conviction concerning the latest allegations has been reported.
For now, Sanpal maintains that his companies continue to operate without disruption. The central dispute remains unresolved because his representatives deny the media narrative, while UAE authorities have not issued a public statement confirming or rejecting the reported financial action.
