Sargodha police arrested four suspects in the murder case of a seven-year-old girl. Authorities announced the arrests on Tuesday after intensive investigations. The girl’s body was discovered inside a local shop.
Police alleged the prime suspect attempted sexual assault before killing the child. Investigators also detained another suspect for questioning. However, officials withheld details about his alleged involvement.
Police Expand Investigation Into Brutal Crime
Police said the shop owner, the prime suspect, and two others were arrested. Authorities believe three suspects allegedly encouraged the prime suspect’s actions. Meanwhile, the Crime Control Department continues examining every aspect of the case.
Investigators presented the prime suspect before a local court. Subsequently, the court granted investigators six-day physical remand. A senior CCD official confirmed preliminary DNA results matched the prime suspect.
Furthermore, investigators claimed the suspect confessed during interrogation. Police continue collecting additional forensic evidence before completing the investigation.
Father Details Events Before Daughter’s Death
The case was registered after the victim’s father filed a complaint. Police included murder, rape, attempted offence, and abetment charges in the FIR. According to the complaint, the girl visited a nearby grocery store.
She frequently purchased household items from the same shop. The father became concerned after his daughter failed to return home. Therefore, he searched the shop with several local residents.
He alleged the shop owner avoided answering questions about her whereabouts. The complainant said they later reached the building’s third floor. He claimed the prime suspect fled after dropping a knife.
The father also accused the shop owner of threatening him days earlier. Meanwhile, investigators continue verifying every allegation through forensic evidence and witness statements.
