Seoul: Samsung has quietly rolled out the Galaxy A08 official by listing its latest budget smartphone on regional websites in Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina without holding a dedicated launch event.
The handset had previously appeared through an online retailer in the UAE. Samsung’s listings now confirm several key specifications, including a 6.7-inch PLS LCD with 1600 × 720-pixel resolution and an IP64 rating for protection against dust and water splashes.
Moreover, the Galaxy A08 offers dual-SIM support, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Samsung offers the device in Silver, Green and Dark Blue.
Galaxy A08 Gets Android 17 and Long-Term Updates
Samsung confirms an octa-core processor clocked at up to 2.2GHz, although its regional listings do not identify the chipset.
The phone runs Android 17 with One UI 9 and comes with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage in the listed configuration.
Importantly, Samsung promises six major Android upgrades and six years of security updates, giving the entry-level handset extended software support.
Meanwhile, expandable storage provides additional capacity for users.
Larger Battery Leads Hardware Upgrades
The Galaxy A08 features a 50MP main camera with an f/1.8 aperture alongside a 2MP auxiliary sensor. An 8MP camera handles selfies and video calls.
Furthermore, Samsung has equipped the handset with a 6,000mAh battery, representing a 1,000mAh increase over the Galaxy A07. The specifications also list 25W wired charging.
Samsung has not announced European pricing. However, the Galaxy A08 previously appeared in the UAE for around $170, with final prices expected to vary between markets.
