Latest Fan Edition smartphone brings a brighter AMOLED display, seven years of software support and faster 45W charging
SEOUL: Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy S26 FE, expanding its Fan Edition lineup with an upgraded processor, new Galaxy AI capabilities and Android 17.
The smartphone features a 6.7-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 1,900 nits. Moreover, Gorilla Glass Victus+ provides additional display protection.
Samsung offers the device in Blueberry, Pistachio and Graphite colours. It weighs 193 grams and measures 7.4mm thick.
Exynos 2500 Powers Expanded Galaxy AI Tools
Samsung has equipped the Galaxy S26 FE with its 3nm Exynos 2500 chipset, replacing the Exynos 2400 found in its predecessor. The processor includes upgraded CPU cores, an AMD RDNA-based Xclipse 950 GPU and improved AI processing capabilities.
Furthermore, the handset offers 8GB RAM alongside 128GB, 256GB and, in selected markets, 512GB storage options.
The device ships with Android 17 and One UI 9. Samsung has also promised seven generations of Android upgrades and seven years of security updates.
Meanwhile, enhanced AI features include Now Brief, Now Nudge and an upgraded Circle to Search capable of recognising multiple objects within an image.
Camera Software Improves as Battery Capacity Grows
The Galaxy S26 FE retains a 50-megapixel main camera with optical image stabilisation, alongside a 12MP ultrawide and an 8MP telephoto camera offering 3x optical zoom. A 12MP front camera handles selfies.
However, Samsung has expanded camera software with My FanCam, improved Nightography and Super Steady with Horizontal Lock. Photo Assist also allows users to edit images through natural-language instructions.
Additionally, the phone carries a 4,900mAh battery supporting 45W wired and 15W wireless charging, alongside Wireless PowerShare.
Samsung says compatible 45W charging can replenish approximately 69 per cent of the battery within 30 minutes.
The Galaxy S26 FE starts at $699.99 for the 128GB version, representing a $50 increase over its predecessor’s launch price.
