Samsung has rolled out a major update for Galaxy S25 users as the One UI 8.5 beta, based on Android 16, officially becomes available in the United States. The beta was previously launched in Europe and South Korea, and the US is now the latest region to receive early access. This update introduces advanced AI features, new design upgrades, and enhanced connectivity tools, making it one of the most significant software updates for the Galaxy lineup.
Beta Now Live for Unlocked Galaxy S25 Models
The first One UI 8.5 beta release is now accessible for the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra. The update arrives with firmware version S93xU1UEU7ZYL8, weighs around 1.3GB, and includes the December 2025 security patch.
Currently, the beta is limited to unlocked variants only. Samsung has confirmed that the program does not include the Galaxy S25 Edge or Galaxy S25 FE at this stage.
Users who have already enrolled in the beta program can download the update by navigating to:
Settings > Software update > Download and install
Once the file downloads, selecting Install now will begin the process and the device will restart automatically.
