Actress reflects on popular on-screen chemistry and fan response to her breakthrough role
KARACHI: Pakistani actress Sahar Hashmi has expressed her desire to work again with actors Danish Taimoor and Feroze Khan, saying she would welcome the opportunity to reunite with both stars following the positive response to their previous collaborations.
Speaking during a recent appearance on Gloss Etc by Maliha Rehman, Sahar discussed the success of her pairing with Danish Taimoor in the drama Mann Mast Malang. She revealed that even before joining the project, producers frequently told her they wanted to cast her opposite the actor.
Recalling those meetings, Sahar said she jokingly wondered whether Danish Taimoor was aware that so many people wanted them to appear together. She added that the collaboration eventually became a reality and was warmly received by viewers.
Busy schedules delay another collaboration
The actress said she later received additional offers to work with Danish Taimoor again. However, she explained that conflicting schedules prevented another project from materialising.
Sahar praised Danish’s consistent success in the television industry and said she hopes their schedules will align in the future. She also shared that she would be equally pleased to collaborate once more with Feroze Khan, with whom she previously appeared in the drama Shaidai.
Fans continue to recognise her as Riya
Meanwhile, Sahar reflected on the popularity of her character Riya in Mann Mast Malang, describing the audience’s response as one of the most rewarding moments of her acting career.
She recalled filming a bus scene when children standing nearby enthusiastically called out, “Riya Api, I love you.” According to the actress, many young fans still address her by the character’s name whenever they meet her outside her vanity van.
Sahar said being recognised as Riya instead of her real name represents one of her greatest achievements as an actor. Her comments have since attracted positive reactions on social media, with many fans expressing enthusiasm about seeing her reunite with Danish Taimoor and Feroze Khan in future television projects.
