Russian forces struck the Northern Bridge over the Dnipro River in Kyiv, claiming the route was being used to transport Ukrainian troops and military equipment.
The Russian Defence Ministry also reported attacks on two dry cargo vessels in the northwestern Black Sea. Moscow claimed the vessels were carrying military equipment toward the Ukrainian port of Odesa.
The ministry said Russian forces had earlier targeted another dry cargo vessel east of Odesa. It also reported strikes on a Nova Poshta logistics centre in Chornomorsk and a data centre in Odesa.
The latest attacks followed Moscow’s warning that it would intensify strikes across Ukraine. Russia issued the warning after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told Reuters that Kyiv would increase attacks on Russian oil refineries.
Russia has recently expanded strikes against infrastructure in Kyiv, including bridges crossing the Dnipro River. The attacks have disrupted transportation and complicated movement between the capital’s two banks.
The Russian Defence Ministry also claimed its air defence systems intercepted and destroyed 559 Ukrainian drones between Saturday evening and Sunday morning. According to Moscow, the drones were intercepted over several Russian regions as well as the Azov and Black seas.
The claims from both sides could not be independently verified.
