KARACHI: In a tragic incident on Monday, Karachi’s Orangi Town witnessed the targeted killing of Naat Khuwan Raheem Ullah.

The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) West confirmed the deliberate nature of the attack, revealing that two assailants on a motorcycle approached Raheem Ullah, firing three shots.

Subsequent to the incident, the victim’s mobile phone and valuables were recovered, while the forensic team collected 9mm bullet shells at the crime scene. Raheem Ullah’s body was then shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Despite initial enmity accusations, the family of the deceased rejected any such claims.

This tragic event echoes a similar pattern seen in July, where CCTV footage uncovered an alleged target killing involving the brother and nephew of Sindh MPA Aslam Abro.

The footage suggested the potential involvement of individuals on a motorcycle and in a car in that earlier incident. The recent targeted killing of Raheem Ullah adds to the growing concerns about security and safety in the region.

Pakistan Cricket Team Faces Change as Morne Morkel Resigns from Coaching Position

On Monday, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced the resignation of Morne Morkel, the national men’s cricket team’s bowling coach.

In a press release, the PCB stated that the former South Africa fast bowler, who joined on a six-month contract in June, has stepped down. Morkel’s inaugural assignment was with the men’s team during their two-match Test series tour to Sri Lanka. The PCB mentioned that Morkel’s replacement would be disclosed “in due course.”

The press release highlighted Pakistan’s upcoming challenge, a three-match Test series against Australia scheduled from December 14, 2023, to January 7, 2024, in Australia.
