Hina Javed Found Dead Nine Months After Marriage
Police in Rawalpindi have arrested a woman’s husband and a domestic worker after she was found dead under suspicious circumstances inside her home.
The victim, identified as 45-year-old Hina Javed, was found in the bathroom of a residence in the Civil Lines police jurisdiction. She had married her husband approximately nine months ago, in November 2025.
Reports identify the husband as Faisal Asghar, who has also been described in some media reports as an Islamabad-based university professor.
Police have registered a case following a complaint filed by Hina’s brother, Fahad Javed.
The husband and a domestic worker, identified as Zeeshan Arshad, have been taken into custody. Hina’s father-in-law has also been named in the case, according to police and the complainant.
Investigators have not yet established the final cause or circumstances of Hina’s death.
Her post-mortem examination has been completed, while the detailed medical report is awaited.
Family Alleges Killing Was Made to Look Like Suicide
Hina’s brother told police that he received a telephone call from her father-in-law asking him to come to the residence because of an emergency.
When he reached the apartment with other relatives, he found his sister dead in the bathroom.
According to the complaint, Hina’s hands had been tied behind her back.
A cloth had reportedly been placed over her face, while a wire was found around her neck. Her body was partially suspended from the bathroom shower.
The complainant also reported seeing blood around her mouth and on the bathroom floor.
Police examining the scene found injuries, including marks around the neck, and collected forensic evidence for further investigation.
Hina’s family alleges that she was killed by her husband with assistance from the domestic worker and her father-in-law.
They have further claimed that an attempt was made to present the death as suicide.
These remain allegations contained in the complaint and have not yet been established by a court.
The family has also alleged that Hina had experienced domestic abuse during the marriage.
Her brother claimed the marriage was her husband’s second and alleged that his previous marriage had also ended following marital problems.
Police have not publicly confirmed those wider allegations.
Police Await Post-Mortem Findings as Investigation Continues
Civil Lines police have collected evidence from the residence and are examining the circumstances surrounding the death from multiple angles.
Early reporting said police initially responded to an emergency call suggesting intruders had entered the property.
When officers arrived, they instead discovered Hina’s body inside the bathroom and began treating the circumstances as suspicious.
The husband and domestic worker are now being questioned as part of the investigation.
The victim’s family is also demanding the arrest of all individuals named in the case, including her father-in-law.
Police say the post-mortem findings will be important in establishing the precise cause of death and determining whether additional charges or arrests are required.
Until the forensic report and investigation are completed, responsibility for Hina Javed’s death has not been judicially established.
The case has meanwhile generated growing public attention, with calls for a transparent investigation and accountability if the allegations are proven.
