The Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metrobus Service has restored its regular operational hours, providing commuters with extended travel options. Previously, service hours had been reduced, limiting the last departures to 9 PM.
According to the administration, buses will now run until 10 PM in both directions. The last bus from Islamabad to Rawalpindi Saddar will depart at 10 PM, while the final journey from Rawalpindi Saddar to Islamabad will also leave at 10 PM. This adjustment ensures passengers have more flexibility during evening travel hours.
The decision to restore full timings comes after public feedback and commuter concerns over limited evening services. Daily passengers who rely on the metro corridor between the twin cities will benefit from the return to the earlier schedule.
Extended service hours are expected to improve convenience for workers, students, and families traveling in the evenings. Authorities emphasized that safety and punctuality will remain a priority alongside the revised schedule.
The Metrobus administration stated that the service has now fully reverted to its previous routine, offering uninterrupted evening connectivity. Commuters are advised to plan their travel according to the updated timings to avoid delays.
This restoration highlights the ongoing efforts by city authorities to maintain reliable public transport in the twin cities, especially for daily commuters and evening travelers.
The move is also seen as a response to rising commuter demand and the importance of metro services in reducing traffic congestion across Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
Officials continue to monitor passenger flow and operational efficiency to ensure the Metrobus service remains dependable for all residents. Future adjustments, if necessary, will be communicated promptly through official channels.
With this restoration, passengers can now enjoy smoother travel during evening hours, ensuring the Metrobus continues to be a convenient, safe, and accessible public transport option.
