The second release from Coke Studio Nu.WAV, ‘Rangeen’, has arrived with a vibrant music video starring Hasan Raheem, Izzchugtai and Umair.
The track follows ‘Dil’ by Afusic, Zoha Waseem and Ali Soomro, which opened the new season. Produced by Umair, ‘Rangeen’ blends youthful romance with colourful visuals and a playful storyline.
Hasan Raheem Dreams of a Romance
The video opens with Hasan Raheem on a Lahore rooftop during Basant. Surrounded by colourful kites, he spots a girl played by model Sukaina Zaidi.
From there, Raheem imagines an entire love story with her. The fantasy moves through courtship and romance while the song explores themes of affection and longing.
However, Izzchugtai brings a different perspective. His character notices that Zaidi’s character is clearly uninterested and tries to make Raheem understand the situation.
Director Arham Ikram keeps the visuals deliberately dreamlike. Meanwhile, production designer Hashim Ali creates an early-2000s atmosphere using pastel walls, patterned tiles, old computers, CDs, cassettes and film posters.
A Colourful Wedding Twist
The story later moves to a neighbourhood wedding. Raheem travels in a sparkly pink rickshaw alongside his on-screen mother, played by Salma Hasan, Izzchugtai and Umair.
The colourful setting eventually leads to a bittersweet reveal. A shehnai played by Muhammad Salim signals a wedding, but Raheem discovers that the girl he imagined marrying is actually marrying someone else.
Raheem also appears as a dulha in his fantasy, prompting fans to recall his earlier promotional campaign for ‘MEMORIES’.
One user joked, “Fake shadi bohat pasand hai apko.”
Executive producer Kamal Khan described ‘Rangeen’ as a project that came together naturally, praising the creative chemistry between Hasan, Umair and Arham.
